Red meat total: times the recommended max intake

Do we eat too much meat?

The World Cancer Research Fund recommends to limit our consumption of red meat (bovine, pig, mutton and goat) to no more than 300 g (11 oz) a week – that's about 43 g (1.5 oz) a day. But in most countries the average consumption of red meat is way higher.

How much and what kind of meat is eaten in the world every day, exactly? Move over the map to learn it, or use the bottom labels to highlight the top eaters of each kind.
